Herb Roasted Chicken Recipe



There are few things better than a roast chicken. Something about it just makes a meal seem special. A whole roasted bird looks impressive to anyone at the table and with a simple recipe you'll look like a master in the kitchen. What better thing to serve for a weekend dinner? Just add some roasted potatoes and a fresh salad and you have a meal that will leave the whole family wanting seconds.


Recipe:

1 Whole Chicken 1 Tsp Oregano

1 Tbs. Salt 1/2 Tsp Thyme

1 Tsp. Black pepper 1 Tsp. Basil

1 Tsp Sage 1 Tsp Paprika

1 Tsp. Rosemary 3 cloves minced garlic


Preheat your oven to 325 F. Place chicken in a roasting pan or Dutch oven. Mix all dried spices along with the minced garlic in a bowl. Season the chicken inside and out with all of the spice mixture, be sure to lift the skin on the breast and season between the skin and meat. Place in the oven at 325 F for 20 min per pound or until a thermometer inserted in the thigh and breast reaches 165 F.
